Jordan Davis picks up 1st offer

Jumping on inner city talent is key for every program and Memphis has their eye on a young defensive end who is right in their back yard.

Jordan Davis is a 6’6, 233-pound defensive end from Southwind High School in Tennessee and is part of the 2018 class. He also is one of the most recent recipients of an offer from Memphis, as he announced over Twitter.

The Memphis offer is actually his first and could go a long way in his recruitment if he decides to stay in his backyard of Tennessee.

“I really think it is a great program, especially the coaching staff,” Davis said after learning about the offer. “It feels really good because this lets me know that I’m working and need to keep working.”

Getting in early with this young man is important as he continues to develop and grow into his game, still being a young prospect. The Tigers noticed him early on that he is a special talent and could be one that helps their program defensively. But they aren’t the only ones taking notice of Davis.

“Clemson,” Davis said when asked what other programs are showing strong interest. “They have been just checking on my work in school and on the field. They also will be coming by sometime this week or later in the month to see me at practice.”

It is an exciting time for this young man, especially receiving his first offer. But he is focusing more on his off-season duties and school work right now, then it seems he will get more into his recruitment.

“My plan right now is to keep doing what I have been doing and keeping up on my grades and football work.”

Davis was part of a Southwind program that finished the season 8-3 overall last year.
