Porter to name starting QB Friday

Tiger Head Coach Larry Porter knows who will start the season at quarterback. The rest of us will have to wait for him to announce it on Friday after practice.
The quarterback race has been narrowed down to two. Redshirt Sophomore Andy Summerlin and true freshman Taylor Reed.

"Both guys (Andy Summerlin and Taylor Reed) looked good today. They engineered our offense and kept the guys focused on the task at hand. They were sharp in their decision making and their throws" said Coach Porter.
Summerlin, 6-foot-5 220 lbs, has been inconsistent during fall camp. At times he looks poised and in command and other times out of sync.
Reed, 6-foot-3 215 lbs, started off slow and has built up his knowledge of the offense and really finished the fall camp strong.
Just because Wake Forest senior transfer Skylar Jones seems to be the odd man out doesn't mean you won't see him in the game. Coach Porter mentioned that the Tigers have packages designed for Jones.
Porter talked about three qualities that he looks for in his quarterback.
1. Ability to manage our offense
2. Decision making
3. Their productivity throughout camp
If you take those three things into consideration then you would think that Reed would get the nod due to Summerlin's inconsistency but hasn't been as inconsistent recently as he was at the start of camp.
