The Memphis Tigers hit the halfway point of its acclimation period - Practice No. 2 - with the team once again going through a two-hour practice in helmets and shorts.
Saturday's practice will be the first of two in shells before the squad finally gets to put on full gear next Tuesday.
"I thought it was pretty good. Guys on both sides flew around a little bit," said head coach Justin Fuente of the Tigers' second day. "I think we made a stride in the right direction."
Evaluating personnel is definitely different for Practice No. 2 than Practice No. 10, but Fuente said there are some things he is looking for early in camp.
"Attention to detail," he pointed out. "Obviously, you can't be very physical but you can be fundamentally correct."
Looking ahead, Tuesday's first full-pad practice will be followed on Wednesday by the team's first set of two-a-day practices. The team will practice two times twice both next week and the following week before breaking camp.
