Tigers Ready to Step Up Practice

The University of Memphis went through its fourth practice of spring on Tuesday, the team's second in three days in shells - gear which includes helmets and shoulder pads. Before the team enjoys next week's spring break at the university, the squad will work out in full pads Thursday, the first time in 2013.
Thursday's closed practice will mark the end of the first third of spring camp. The team will return to the practice fields on March 19th. All told, the team will have 15 spring practice dates including the April 6th spring game at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

"We have a long way to go as a team, from an accountability level," said head coach Justin Fuente. "From a toughness level we have a long way to go from what I have seen from the first four practices."
Fuente said Thursday's practice will offer an opportunity for the staff to evaluate the Tigers as they just go through some base work.
"We'll see who can run, block and tackle; get off blocks and throw and catch," he said.
