Coach Joe Lorig a nominee for the Broyles Award

Memphis Special Teams Coordinator and Outside Linebackers coach Joe Lorig has been named as a nominee for the 2017 Broyles Award.

The Broyles Award honors college football’s top assistant coaches.

Before Coach Lorig joined Coach Norvell here at Memphis last year, the Tigers went nearly 2 decades without a kickoff return for a touchdown. In less than 2 years as the special teams coordinator, Memphis has had 5 returns for touchdowns. All by Tony Pollard.
