The Memphis Tigers suffered their first loss of the season to the Bruce Pearl led Auburn Tigers. Despite 27 points from PJ Haggerty, Auburn proved to be too much for Memphis.

Memphis fell behind 9-0 just minutes into the game and never fully recovered. This is the Tigers 3rd game in as many days, and the fatigue of that was apparent.

With 4:30 remaining in the first half, Memphis trailed 19-39. PJ Haggerty was giving his best effort to keep Memphis in the game. The guard had 15 of the 31 first half points for the Tigers.

Despite back-to-back 20+-point games, Tyrese Hunter was scoreless in the first half.

Memphis was out rebounded 22-11 in the first half, and had just 3 assists to 7 turnovers. The Auburn Tigers had 16 2nd chance points and 14 points off turnovers.

The Tigers could not get back into this game despite the effort of PJ Haggerty. They trailed the entire game, and trailed by double digits the whole second half.

Tyrese Hunter did find his rhythm and finished with 11 points and 5 assists. Dain Dainja and Colby Rogers contributed 15 points as well.

Haggerty was the star for the Tigers tonight, finishing with 27 points and shooting 11-20 from the field and grabbing 9 rebounds. Haggerty continues to be the motor for the Tigers.

Memphis finished shooting 28-56(50%) from the field. Despite being one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country, the Tigers attempted just 9 threes tonight, making 6. Memphis did improve on the boards in the second half and finished with 26 compared to Auburn's 32.
