1-seed 2019 team (12-2) vs 2-seed 2017 team (10-3)
The 2019 team came out of the gates with a 8-0 lead after 2 Riley Patterson field goals and a safety.
The 2017 team made it 8-7 when Darrell Henderson scored on a draw play for 37 yards. The 2019 team extended their lead 15-7 on a 14 yard pass from Brady White to Damonte Coxie.
The sea saw battle continued as the '17 punched right back when Patrick Taylor Jr scored from 5 yards out and the lead was cut to 1 once again, 15-14.
The '19 team went up 22-14 when Kenneth Gainwell scored from 6 yards out.
With 2:20 left in the 3rd quarter the '17 came within 1 point again after a touchdown pass from Riley Ferguson to Damonte Coxie. The score was now 25-24 in favor of the 2019 team.
As time was running out of the 3rd quarter, Kenneth Gainwell sprinted 26 yards and the 2019 team had a 32-24 lead going into the 4th quarter.
The 2019 went up 39-24 after a White found Joey Magnifico for a 17 yard strike.
With 8:48 left in the game Riley Ferguson found Anthony Miller and the '17 team found themselves in striking distance. They were down just 39-31.
They forced the '19 team to a 3-and-out. The 2017 team had some momentum on their side and they had the ball on their own 30 yard line with 7:46 left to go but the momentum stopped. They were not able to capitalize and ended up with their own 3 and out.
Two plays later Kenneth Gainwell sealed the win for the 2019 team as he sprinted 67 yards for a touchdown and the '19 team led 46-31.
The '19 defense shut down the '17 team the rest of the way and the 2019 team won the game and the tournament.
Kenneth Gainwell won play of the game honors with his 3 touchdown and 181 yard performance.
