David Kemp chooses Memphis

The Memphis Tigers got a strong legged commitment in Kicker David Kemp. Kemp becomes the 19th commitment of the 2021 class.

Kemp is a 5-star kicker according to Kohls Kicking academy.

Why did he choose Memphis?

"Memphis has so many great things to offer with the great community around the University. The great football family and culture that Coach Silverfield has is something that appealed to me as well. One of the bigger things that attracted me to Memphis was the opportunity to have Coach Lembo as a mentor. I’m super excited to get to Memphis and get to work!"

"Some of the schools that I was looking at were Iowa State, Michigan State, USF, Kansas State, Appalachian State, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Mississippi State, and Tulane. Memphis just separated itself for me!"

Adam Tanalski from Hammer Kicking Academy trains Kemp and he has nothing but praise for Kemp.

"The best kicker in the country. Memphis got a kid whose elevation and distance is at an elite level. David is one of the hardest workers in the class and was dominant the whole summer. Better person, and a great person for Pete’s room he’ll carry on the tradition of Stephen Gostowski, Jake Elliot, and Riley Patterson."
