The first college football playoff rankings have been released and the Memphis Tigers came in at #23.

Memphis, 7-1, came in right behind #22 Arizona. The Wildcats only have 1 top 25 win while the Tigers have 2. Arizona lost to Houston while Memphis beat Houston.

Memphis fans shouldn't care too much on where the Tigers are ranked because the Tigers control their own destiny.

Win out and the Tigers will be in a New Years 6 Bowl.

This is the 2nd time the Tigers have debuted in the college football playoff rankings. Back in 2015, Memphis was 8-0 and was ranked #13 in the initial poll.

The other AAC team ranked in this years initial college football playoff rankings are UCF. The Knights came in at #18.

The Tigers and Knights seem to be on a collision course for a rematch. A Championship rematch. As long as both teams keep winning, they'll have a rematch in Orland on December 2nd.
