The Memphis Tigers (12-6, 3-2) needed overtime to beat Temple (8-9, 1-5) 75-72.
The road win is their first of the season. Jeremiah Martin led the team with 26 points but it was Kareem Brewton Jr's late 3 that sealed the victory. It was his only 3 of the game and finished with 10 points.
The Tigers were sloppy in the first half with 10 turnovers but they only trailed 31-30.
Memphis came out strong early in the 2nd half. They held the Owls scoreless for nearly a 7 minute stretch as Memphis built a 45-37 lead. The Owls responded with a 9-0 run to take a 46-45 lead with 9:36 to go in the game.
Memphis then responded with a 10-0 run and had a 55-46 lead with 5:59 remaining.
The Owls would storm back and it was a back and forth for the rest of the game and into overtime.
This was the Tigers first road win since Feb. 2, 2017 when they beat USF, 85-75.
The Tigers are now tied for 4th in the AAC with a 3-2 Conference record. Only 2 games out of 1st place Cincinnati.
