The University of Memphis veteran additions

The University of Memphis has put together a veteran roster for this upcoming season. Memphis Head Coach Penny Hardaway made it clear after games during press conferences on how he wanted his players to learn to grow from being boys to becoming men.

Now with the help of the NCAA transfer portal Memphis has added guys like Emmanuel Akot who has played in the NCAA tournament, and PAC 12. The 6-foot-8 Forward/Guard is going to be a great addition replacing Landers Nolley. His experience comes from Arizona, Boise State University. Akot comes in with a great resume that started from high school where he was a Top 30 prospect.

Keonte Kennedy a 6-foot-6 guard who has played for Xavier, UTEP brings versatility, and size at the shooting guard position. Kennedy averaged 14ppg for UTEP his leadership will be needed as Memphis learns to move on from the guitar player Lester Quinones. What’s special about Kennedy is that he matches well with Memphis his defense. His size at 6-foot-6 and length will be needed to help keep Memphis as one of the premier defensive teams in the country.

Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu a 6-foot-11 shot blocking phenomenon is one of the NCAA Top 5 returning shot blockers. NBA scouts are aware of his potential. Better known to his teammates as KAO the University of Texas Arlington transfer is raw offensively but his athleticism makes up for it. Memphis Head Coach Penny Hardaway loves for his big post players to be athletic. The style of play is for guys who can run the floor and catch easy lob passes. Kao is that and more. He should be a real crowd pleaser with his great dunks.

Kendric Davis

The key addition to this great veteran recruiting class is Kendric Davis The AAC Conference Player of The Year is ready to show fans what they been waiting for. Kendric Davis arrives to Memphis from SMU as he is one of The Top 25 Players to watch by every college basketball media service. Davis experience at point guard will be key to making another run at the NCAA Tournament. The 6-foot-0 point guard averaged 19ppg to go along with 4ast. Hardaway is ready to give the keys to his new point guard as he will help guide the program on a magical run. His crafty playmaking will keep fans happy.

Memphis is still open to adding one more or two more players to the roster. I’m projecting another point guard to backup Kendric Davis. They are looking to add another post player as well, someone to help at the center position. The University of Memphis roster will be players who are all trying to play in the NCAA Tournament one last time or for the first time. The road to success will be interesting and fun to watch.
